If you want to organize your event in a public area, for example a park, square, or market place, you need a land use permit from Event Services. Sports venues, including Tampere stadium, are operated by city sports services. Street use permits are granted by the City of Tampere’s Planning Services department. Open air stages in the city’s parks are operated by the city cultural services.
If you need help finding a venue, please contact Tampere Event Services.
The permits needed depend on the event in question; usually you’ll need at least a permission to use the event venue, a notice of public event to the police, safety and emergency plans, and a waste management plan. Separate licences, permits or plans are needed if you are going to for example play music, or serve food or alcohol.

Several event-ready locations in Tampere such as Ratinanniemi, Santalahti, and the Central Square are equipped with pre-installed power distribution units for event use. You can inquire about access to these units when reserving the area. If the electricity demand is high or the area does not have a permanent power unit, temporary power connections and distribution units are available for events.
Some event venues also have ready water connections, which can be confirmed during the reservation process. If water is not available on-site, it can be delivered in a water tank, for example by Tampere Water.
Tents, stages, benches, tables, and other event structures are rented from external service providers operating in the Tampere area. The city does not provide these structures. However, the city does offer event cottages for rent, which can be used as information points or for small-scale food service.
