Abribus poster surfaces and media screens
The city of Tampere offers event organizers free advertising space on JCDecaux’s Abribus poster surfaces and on four media screens in Tampere. Reservations for Abribus surfaces can be made once a year. Media screens are available for reservations year-round.
The advertising space itself is free, but all other expenses (designing, printing, shipping, etc.) need to be covered by the advertiser.

How do I reserve Abribus surfaces for my event?
The Abribus application period for the following year is in the beginning of October. Please note that the reservation period is short, only a couple of days! The reservation period for the year 2025 has ended. Please contact infopinnat (at) tampere.fi for more information.
When and for how long can I advertise my event?
The advertising spaces are allocated in periods of one to two weeks. Usually one advertiser may only receive one Abribus advertising period of up to two weeks per year.
The advertising period should be as close to the event dates as possible: a summer event cannot be advertised in winter.
How do you decide who gets an advertising space?
The spaces are hugely popular and their availability is therefore very limited. The spaces are allocated based on the number of applicants for a specific time period and on various other factors, including city image and commercial aspects.
The spaces cannot be used for marketing a company or commercial products.
How many spaces do I get and where are they located?
The surfaces have been divided into 3 sets of ca. 21. Each advertising period includes one set of ca. 21 spaces. When filling out the application form, you can request a specific set. This is a good thing to do especially if one of the advertising spaces is located near your event venue.
The approximate addresses of the advertising spaces are listed in the spreadsheet linked below. Please note that construction sites in the city centre may affect the number of spaces available.

How many posters do I need to print?
There are ca. 21 posters in each set. You’ll need to print 20% extra in case they are damaged or need to be changed during your advertising period.

Terms of use
- Advertisements may not contain commercial information, such as ticket prices. Sponsor and parter logos are allowed at the bottom of the poster, their total size may not exceed 10% of the poster area. When in doubt, it is best to check with JCDecaux: Anniina Veteläinen, anniina.vetelainen (at) jcdecaux.fi, tel. +358 40 450 1686.
- Your reservation form must include the advertiser’s information and the purpose of your advertising campaign (e.g. the name of the event, performance, exhibition etc.). These cannot be changed without discussing the changes with the city of Tampere.
- If you need to cancel your advertising campaign, the city of Tampere must be notified no later than six weeks before the start of the advertising period. Exceptions to this rule may be made for events cancelled due to covid-19 restrictions.
- Posters must be delivered at least two weeks before the start of the campaign to JCDecaux’s warehouse at Hautalankatu 20, 33560 Tampere. JCDecaux is responsible for poster installation. Contact Olli Pelkonen, tel. +358 400 739 988 before delivering your posters.
- If an advertiser does not comply with these terms and conditions, they will not be allocated an advertising space the following year.

The city of Tampere allocates free advertising space on four media screens around the city. The screens can be used to advertise events that take place in Tampere. Advertising materials may not include third party logos or marketing, or ticket sales information. The advertising space itself is free, but all designing expenses need to be covered by the advertiser.
Media screens can be reserved year round by using the application form linked below. Please note that filling the application does not guarantee your event an advertising space! If you are allocated a space, you as the advertiser are responsible for producing the advertising materials as per the instructions below and emailing them to the email address below.

How many media screens are there and where are they located?
Each advertising period includes four media screens that are located in Laukontori Market Place, Mustalahti Harbour and along Lielahdenkatu and Hervannan valtaväylä.
Sizes and file formats
The required ad sizes are as follows:
• Lielahti and Hervannan valtaväylä: width 768 x height 384 pixels, in jpg format
• Laukontori and Mustalahti harbour: width 288 x height 192 pixels, png format
When and where do I send the ads?
The materials must be sent to infopinnat (at) tampere.fi no later than 12 noon on Wednesday before the advertisement period. Please make sure that the filenames are in the format eventName_widthXheight.jpg/png e.g. OurEvent_288x192.png or Our_Festival_768x384.jpg.

Street banners
Street banner spaces can be reserved from the city’s property management unit by filling in the form linked below. The banners will be fixed and removed by Tampereen Vera Oy. Both the ad space and the work are subject to a fee. Filling the form does not guarantee an advertising space.

Event poster boards
There is a total of ten event poster boards around the centre of Tampere. The boards are available free of charge, and they are official poster boards provided by the City of Tampere. Attaching posters or other advertisements elsewhere is not permitted. The boards are cleared from posters on the first Monday of every month.
